About Jill

Jill Rachel Lamb was born on August 30, 1969.

Jill led a very active childhood, would not sit very long, and loved being outside
playing, throwing and kicking balls, riding her bike and Big Wheel, roller skating.  Jill
would always play at least 2-3 sports a year.

The beaches from Santa Monica to Zuma were Jill's favored places to be during the
summer months.  Even as an adult, you could find Jill playing outside with the boys
from the neighborhood and her girls.  Reflecting on her childhood, Jill often said she
hoped her three girls' childhood would be as active and happy as hers had been.

After graduating from UCLA with a Bachelor's in Mathematics in 1993 she went on to
earn a Master's in Mathematics in 1994.  After college, Jill worked as a high school
teacher.  She cared deeply for the students she interact with, and was loved by
them as well.

In February 2003, Jill was diagnosed with breast cancer.  She endured 5-years of
treatments and remissions prior to her final fight beginning in the summer of 2007.
Almost 5-years to the day after Jill's original diagnosis, her hard fought battle came
to an end February 7, 2008.

This amazing wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend always kept her chin up
mocking the disease that was taking her.  Breast cancer may have taken her life, but
it never took her spirit.  She was able to joke about her hair loss and celebrating her
final birthday, keeping everyone's spirits high.

The brave woman who always took on the boys in baseball, showed that fighting
spirit until the end and will live on in the hearts of those blessed to have known her.
She will forever live on in her 3 beautiful daughters.
